Internationally-acclaimed
poet April Eiler has been performing dramatic recitations and
has been a highly sought after contributor to a host of poetry
periodicals for at least 25 years. Prior to her career in poetry,
she taught dance and led a dance company in Palo Alto, California.
Knowledge of this early background in dance and rhythm is an
important key to understanding and experiencing the rhythmic
and metrical subtleties of her poetic style. Her dry wit makes
her poetry a popular favorite at readings and performances wherever
she is invited to perform.
Ms. Eiler's poems
have appeared in many of the most innovative poetry periodicals
in the English-speaking world, including Bellowing Ark, Black
Bear Review, Blue Unicorn, The Comstock Review, Haight Ashbury
Literary Journal, The Pittsburgh Quarterly, and Verve. This
critically-acclaimed poet has published two books of her evocative
poems which are adeptly illustrated by artist Sandra Beard.
A substantial number of the poet's works have been selected
for inclusion in a variety of anthologies of contemporary verse,
most recently, Ionization, from Minotaur Press.
